After a rigorous vetting process, Proptia beats out Dwellinglive to provide software services for the prestigious Newport Coast communities. Newport Coast features some of the most desired real estate and coveted gated communities made up of Coastal Canyon, Pelican Hill, Pelican Point, Pelican Ridge, Pelican Crest, Ocean Heights, and Ocean Ridge.. This is the 10th major cut-over in a matter of months. In January the star-studded North Beverly Park (NBP) neighborhood in Beverly Hills followed by the ocean side Malibu Canyon and famous Hidden Hills in Calabasas.

We are excited to service such a well-known set of communities. It’s a milestone for our company and shows the product-market fit is there.

“We understand the needs of HOA communities that take security seriously and expect that of their software solution. It’s always a balancing act of security and convenience and that’s where Proptia shines”, says Chris Carr Proptia’s Director of Growth and Marketing.

Proptia’s modular all-in-one Property Security platform makes it extremely easy for HOA boards to implement a security solution that adds value and makes the lives of their residents and property managers easier. Traditionally HOA security systems are cumbersome, integrated with unreliable hardware, and lack automation.

“Often we’ll meet with a community and their biggest problem is guests and vendors are gaining access that are not authorized, managers have no way to run detailed reports on vehicles, visitors, and plates, they can’t see who’s in the community, and their data is a mess!”

“We’ve found that reporting and data are typically the number one culprit. Devices are assigned to the wrong resident, devices are assigned to residents and vendors that no longer are in the community, and visitor lists are outdated. This usually occurs because antiquated systems on the market lack automation tools and self-auditing tools and many don’t have the exit analytics and vehicle reporting that give actionable data in the case of monitoring vehicle entry and exit. When you have the right set of tools it makes it extremely easy for property managers to administer the system and keep a clean database.” says Carr.

Newport Coast will be implementing Proptia Gatehouse Visitor Management, Credentialed Access, Visitor Processing Scan Kiosks at unmanned gates, and license plate recognition at entry and exit lanes.

The driving factors for the switch:

  • Level of support
  • Hardware reliability
  • Level of License Plate Recognition reporting
  • License Plate Recognition accuracy
  • General features and functionality
